State Fair Milk Bar Volunteer Group Says No More

The volunteer group that ran the Milk Bar at the New York State Fair says no more. When the group wanted to raise the price of a cup of milk from $.25 to $.50 last year, Governor Cuomo stepped in and promised funding to make up the difference.  However, the group says not all that money came through and it can't pay its bills.  The milk bar may reopen but it would have to have a new operator.

A spokesperson for the Fair says, "The state will continue to honor the long-standing tradition of $.25 a cup for milk at the Fair... and the action highlights the commitment by the state to ensure that fairgoers enjoy all that the newly-renovated Fair has to offer."
