Syracuse Police Investigate Bank Robbery

Syracuse Police are investigating a downtown bank robbery. City police were called to the Chase Bank on West Fayette Street after an employee called and said the bank had been robbed.

Police say the bandit walked into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.The teller complied with his commands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. The bandit then fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a dark colored jacket and grey pants. The jacket has a light-colored stripe across the front of it. Anyone with information on the suspect is being asked to call city police at 442-5222 or anonymous tips can be submitted through the SPD tips apps.
