Father And Son Charged After Troopers Find, Guns, Fireworks And Dead Dogs

Redwood, N.Y. - State Police have arrested a Jefferson County man and his father on multiple charges of illegally possessing firearms.

Last month Troopers found 28 year old Guy Plumb, of Redwood, in possession of an illegal revolver.

An investigation led to to searches at three different locations in Redwood, Plessis and Alexandria Bay during which they discovered that Plumb and his Father Timothy Plumb were in possession of several guns, Kung Fu stars, illegal fireworks and numerous rounds of ammo.

Troopers also found two dead dogs, that State Police say were intentionally shot by younger Plumb

Seized Items:

46381 Barnes Settlement Road:

  • Multiple boxes of dangerous fireworks.
  • Two Kung Fu stars.
  • Numerous rounds of ammunition in various calibers.
  • Three long guns.
  • Two deceased canines were intentionally shot and killed by Guy Plumb, as determined by the investigation.

24480 Swan Hollow Road:

  • .22 caliber converted assault weapon (semi-automatic rifle with a detachable magazine, pistol grip, and collapsible buttstock).
  • Eight long guns.
  • Numerous rounds of ammunition.

25955 State Route 26:

  • 5 loaded revolvers, 1 pistol.
  • Numerous rounds of ammunition.
  • Fifteen long guns.

The two face the following charges:

Guy J. Plumb from Redwood, NY was arrested and charged with:

  • Criminal Sale of a Firearm 2nd, – Class C Felony.
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm (2 counts) – Class E Felony.
  • Criminal Sale of a Semiautomatic Rifle – Class E Felony.
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th – Class A Misdemeanor.
  • Conspiracy 5th – Class A Misdemeanor.
  • Unlawful Dealing with Fireworks and Dangerous Fireworks – Violation.
  • Aggravated Cruelty to Animals (2 counts) – Class E Felony.

Timothy D. Plumb, from Plessis, NY was arrested and charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd (7 counts) – Class C Felony.
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm (6 counts) – Class E Felony.
