A controversial ending sullies another classic between Syracuse  and Duke tonight in Durham. With 10 seconds left, a game-tying layup by C.J. Fair is waved off on a horrific charge call and Jim Boeheim receives two technicals for protesting the blown call.

SU keeps the Cameron Crazies in check throughout the first half, never trailing during the first twenty minutes of play and leading for the vast majority. Duke flips the script in the second half, taking control initially and maintaining a slim lead for most of a back and forth second half.

The blown call on Fair, coupled with the Boeheim ejection, effectively ends the game and Duke avenges their loss at the Dome three weeks ago by the final of 66-60.

SU wins the rebounding battle 37-34 and only turns the ball over 8 times in front of the Cameron Crazies, but shoots 39 percent from the field and 2-9 from 3-pt range. Tyler Ennis finishes 2-13 from the field and looks rattled for the first time all season, but he still ends up with a solid 6-2 assist to turnover ratio.

Fellow freshman phenom Jabari Parker carries the Blue Devils with a game high 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Syracuse is now 25-2 (12-2 in the ACC) and Duke is now 22-6 (11-4 in the ACC). Virginia now leads the conference by a game and a half, with a 14-1 mark, following a 70-49 beatdown of Notre Dame earlier today.

The Orange’s next game is at Maryland on Monday. The 7 o’clock tip (and the rest of the game) can be seen on ESPN.
