I miss Cuse basketball. I know it’s only been a month since SU bowed out of the NCAA Tournament, but I’m already feeling the void.

Knowing I’ll never see Tyler Ennis, Jerami Grant, or C.J. Fair in Syracuse orange again certainly doesn’t help. (Sorry Baye, I won’t really miss your flailing limbs and stone hands)

The uncertainty surrounding Mike Hopkins (and the threat of losing his analytical mind) has also made matters worse.

I am excited about incoming studs Chris McCullough and Kaleb Joseph, although McCullough’s limited involvement in the Jordan Brand Classic was pretty disappointing.

I’m very excited about the 2015 recruiting class, and there’s a strong possibility it’ll get even better, but unfortunately those guys can’t do anything to bolster the mediocre roster for this upcoming season.

A guy like Matt Carlino could, however. (Hint, hint)

Regardless of the overall season prospects, though, I’m chomping at the bit to see Jim Boeheim attack a stellar conference slate and another exciting preseason tournament.

And with a relatively no-name roster, the 2-3 zone will be an even bigger star than usual.

The football team is playing a tough, exciting schedule as well, and they’ll be sporting new uniforms while taking it on, but Syracuse’s sporting scene revolves around Jimmy and the boys. I mean, did you even know the Spring Game happened last weekend?

This is a basketball town. And I miss it.
