Town of Clay, N.Y. - Onondaga County Sheriffs arrested a man with a gun after he fell asleep at a green light.
Just before 10 Wednesday night, Deputies found 20 year old Stani Juma asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at an intersection of Buckley and West Taft Road in the Town of Clay.
Deputies noticed a handgun with an extended magazine on the passenger seat. Juma woke up and drove away hitting two Sheriffs vehicles in the process.
He was chased by the Deputies and AIR 1 until he stopped and tried to run but was caught and arrested.
The gun, a Taurus 9mm was recovered.
According to the Sheriffs Office Juma faces the following charges:
Criminal Possession of a loaded firearm 2nd.
Criminal Possession of weapon 3rd ammo clip
Criminal Possession of a firearmT
Tampering with physical evidence.
Criminal possession of a weapon 4th.
Criminal mischief.
Reckless Property Damage.
Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd.
DWI-1st Offense
and several traffic tickets including reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident
