Onondaga County Health Department Warns Of Tainted Synthetic Marijuana

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Health Department issuing a warning about fentanyl laced synthetic marijuana.

Synthetic marijuana is a chemical mixture used to mimic THC, which is what gives you the high when using pot, and is sometimes called SPIKE.

It can be sold in many locations, including convenience stores and gas stations.

They're illegal and have unpredictable and harmful effects.

People are urged to be even more careful with the possible addition of fentanyl which could cause an overdose leading to death.

If you witness someone experiencing an overdose, please call 911 and administer naloxone as soon as possible.
