Syracuse Fire Fighters Save Child From Burning Building

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse firefighters rescued a young child from a large fire Tuesday.

The blaze broke out at a multi-family home on Park Street, between Kirkpatrick and Pond streets, around 2:30.

When crews arrived the back of the house was fully engulfed.

Firefighters were told an 8-year-old boy was trapped inside. They were able to find the child and take him to safety. The boy suffered burns and is in the hospital in critical condition.

Over 50 firefighters fought the blaze from outside the building. During the fire, a roof from one of the buildings collapsed.

Officials say the fire started in the attic. No word on the cause.
