Syracuse Firefighters Make Quick Work Of Fire

Syracuse, N.Y. - Quick action by Syracuse firefighters saved a home this morning.

Just before 10 firefighters showed up at a house on West Onondaga Street.

When they got there they found a 2 story wood frame, multi-family home with heavy smoke.

Those who lived there got out after hearing the working smoke detectors.

There are three apartments in the building occupied by a total of 11 adults. One of the residents tried to put out the fire with a garden hose before calling 911, that allowed the blaze to grow before firefighters arrived. No one was injuried.
