Cicero, N.Y. - A 15-year-old has been arraigned on murder charges.
Onondaga County Sheriff Deputies day that 15-year-old Zakariah Ibrahim had gotten into a fight just after midnight with another 15-year-old on Chinkapin Circle in Cicero when that teen stabbed Ibrahim. Ibrahim was rushed to the hospital where he died.
Ibrahim’s attacker, Maurice Martin, ran away but was tracked down and arrested in Clay. Officers have questioned another teenager in connection to the murder.
Martin has been arraigned on murder and weapons possession charges. He pleaded not guilty in Syracuse City Court.
Ibrahim is the second 15-year-old to be killed over the long holiday weekend. New York over the weekend. Janya Thomas was stabbed to death on Saturday by a 13-year-old boy on Pennsylvania Avenue in Syracuse.
