State Troopers Make Drug Arrest In City Of Syracuse

Syracue, N.Y. - Two people were arrested on drug charges following a vehicle and traffic stop in Syracuse. 

Tuesday New York State Troopers stopped a vehicle in the city of Syracuse.

Troopers found that the front seat passenger, Christie L. Menkins, 43  from Phoenix, NY was in possession of crack cocaine. She was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and released on an appearance ticket.

A back seat passenger, Leroy T. Giles, age 27, from Syracuse, NY was found to be in possession of marijuana. After further investigation Giles admitted he had multiple baggies of cocaine hidden on him.

Giles was arrested and processed for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (class “B” felony), Tampering with Physical Evidence (class “E” felony), and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (class “A” misdemeanor).

He was remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $5,000 cash bail/$10,000 bond.
