Man Charged In Fitch St. Fire That Kills A Child

Police have made an arrest in a Fitch Street house fire that has claimed the life of a one year old boy and placed 3 others in the hospital in critical condition. 

20 year old Charles A. Dubois, was arrested and charged with Murder in the 2nd degree and Arson in the 1st degree. 

He is alleged to have started a fire on the first floor of a home occupied by, Susan Wagner 45, Michael DuBois 16, Korinna DuBois 18 and Hunter DuBois 1 and James Gower 51. Firefighters rescued Wagner and Michael, Korinna, and Hunter Dubois from the second floor as flames totally engulfed the first floor.  All 4 were sent to Upstate University Hospital. Gower was able to escape on his own by jumping out of the second floor window. 

 Hunter DuBois, died from his injuries Thursday afternoon. The other three remain in critical condition. 

Charles BuBois was Hunter's Uncle. He was arraigned and sent to Onondaga County Jail. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
