Syracuse, N.Y. - For the first time since 1945, Valentine's Day falls on the same day as Ash Wednesday. Catholics and other Christians who will observe Ash Wednesday today are supposed to fast, pray and not eat meat.
Meantime, Bishop Robert Cunningham has also scheduling a major announcement that will be affect the seven county Syracuse Catholic diocese. The diocese covers Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga and Oswego Counties.
The announcement is being held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 10:00 a.m.
