Syracuse police have identified the two men who were murdered Monday night in an apartment in the city's Far West side.
Police say they found Jose Castro and Arturo Resto Figueroa in the apartment on Avery Avenue just before 10pm. The two were pronounced dead shortly after. Officers say it appears both men died of gunshot wounds, but an autopsy will be conducted to determine a cause of death. Detectives have not yet determined what relationship existed between Castro and Figueroa, and there is still no suspect information. Police ask anyone with information about the shootings to contact them anonymously via the department's "SPD Tips" smartphone app.
