Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police are investigating a shooting near a candlelight vigil honoring a Syracuse Man killed in Watertown over the weekend.
Syracuse Police were called out to South Salina and LaFayette St Tuesday just after 10:00 p.m. when gun fire cut short a vigil for Shawndell Anderson. Watertown Police say that 34-year-old Christopher Swem stabbed Anderson to death on Saturday.
Eventually police got word that a man had showed up to Upstate Hospital with a gunshot wound to his hip. Officers say that man is not cooperating with officers and shed no light on what led up to the shooting near the vigil.
