Syracuse Police Investigating Shooting

Syracuse, N.Y. – On Monday, February 27th, 2017 at approximately 4:42 PM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of South Townsend Street in regards to a shooting complaint.  Several area residents called 911 to report hearing shots fired in that area.  Upon their arrival, Officers met with a 20 year old male, who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his right hip and right hand. Officers also met with a 16 year old male, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his right foot. The victims were transported to Upstate University Hospital for treatment by AMR Ambulance personnel.  Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening at this time.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build, wearing a white or light grey hooded sweatshirt.  The suspect reportedly left the area on foot, southbound on South Townsend Street.
