St. Marianne Cope is back in Hawaii after spending the last 9 years in Syracuse in preparation for her beatification.

Officials with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities say two of the leaders of their congregation traveled with the remains of St. Marianne back to The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady Of Peace in Honolulu.  Her remains had been at the church prior to 2005, since it had been her home from 1883 until her death.  St. Marianne spent over 30 years there, ministering to a leper colony at what was then known as the Sandwich Islands.

A special welcome ceremony and mass will be conducted Thursday at the church by Honolulu diocese Bishop Larry Silva.
