Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reports that sheriff’s deputies are investigating reports of an unattended child in the Town of Lysander.

The sheriff’s office received calls at about 6:30 am this morning regarding a 3 to 5 year old white female walking alone in the areas of Merritt Drive, River Road and Doyle Road in the Town of Lysander. The child was last seen walking south on River Road near Doyle Rd at about 7:00 am. She was last seen wearing a pink “puffy” coat with fur lining on the hood and pink or brown boots with fur. The child is described as having dirty blonde hair in a pony tail and was carrying a pink back-pack with a doll sticking partially out of the back.

An individual who had brief contact with the child, and later contacted authorities, told deputies that the girl mentioned that she was from Florida and had moved here recently.

The sheriff’s office has received no missing child complaints in the area and is unsure whether or not the girl was being used in some type of scam or criminal surveillance scheme. Deputies are continuing their search of the area.

If anyone has any information regarding this unattended child is asked to call the Onondaga County Sheriff’sOffice at 315-435-2111.
