The recent closure of Roth Steel, a long-time scrap metal business, might cause some to believe the business is not what it once was.  A one-time competitor of theirs says it's not the case.

Bob Frank with scrap metal dealer Metalico says demand is high, particularly from mills that make steel for the auto industry.  Frank says that few people have brought in scrap metal over the winter because of the harsh conditions, so that demand for it is high, and mills are paying more for it.

Frank also says Roth was an established business for over a hundred years with many experienced employees, and that his company hired many of them.
