Gates, N.Y. - A section of a suburban Rochester highway is shut down as police investigate a truck driver's report that a gunshot may have shattered one of his windows.
Local media report Interstate 390 is closed in both directions early Thursday afternoon after the trucker said he believed a bullet hit his rig's passenger window as he was driving south in the town of Gates, just east of Rochester.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the driver pulled onto the shoulder and called police. They say they haven't been able to confirm yet if a bullet hit the truck.
The highway is closed between Chili Avenue and Interstate 490.
Last week, a stretch of Route 390 in the neighboring town of Greece was closed as police investigated a report of a bullet hitting a car.
