A proposed $350 million casino resort in Seneca County has more government approval for their plan.

Developer Wilmorite says the planned casino  near the Thruway got a crucial thumbs-up from the Tyre town board in Seneca County, where the casino will be located.  The board voted unanimously on several resolutions, including those needed by Wilmorite to be able to officially apply for the casino with the state.  Officials say the vote shows the board not only supports their plan but sees its benefit for the community.

Local group Casino Free Tyre opposes the casino, and continues to seek a court order to void a key town law allowing the casino to be built.
