With temperatures in the 90's, a popular beach in Oswego County has been closed.

Taft Bay Park in Constantia is now off-limits because of a dangerous blue-green algae bloom that been spotted at the beach.

The county health department says it got a call from workers at the park about the bloom and they sent investigators to the scene.

The current hot weather is probably the cause and the bloom may disappate on it's own over time, but the county will continue to monitor the bloom.

Health officials say anyone who may come in contact with the algae bloom can get sick. It can cause skin irritations and even vomiting and diarrhea if it's ingested.
