Syracuse police tell us they made three arrests in connection with a series of armed robberies around the campus of Syracuse University.

Officers say they spoke to a man on East Colvin Street who said three males approached him with one holding a handgun and demanded he give them what he had. The victim didn't comply, and the suspects fled. Officers used his description to search the area and detained three males matching the descriptions of the suspects.

The suspects, identified as 16-year-old Ian Vire of Syracuse, and a 15 and 14-year-old, were all charged with attempted robbery. The 15-year-old was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.  They were taken to Hillbrook Detention Facility; Vire was taken to the Justice Center. Further investigation revealed that the 14-year-old was involved in two earlier campus robberies. He was charged with robbery for them as well.
