OSWEGO, N.Y. (AP) _ The parents of a 3-year-old child and a third adult face charges after police in central New York say they found dozens of bags of heroin inside a vehicle the family was traveling in.

Police in the city of Oswego tell local media that officers pulled over a car late Monday afternoon during an investigation into heroin possession and sales. Authorities say officers searched the vehicle and found 76 individual bags of heroin and a hypodermic needle.

All three adults in the car were arrested.

The parents, both 22, were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and endangering the welfare of a child.

Their 3-year-old son old son is being cared for by relatives while his parents are being held in the Oswego County Jail.
