A NASA-sponsored event is calling on what organizers say are "children of all ages" to spend the day exploring at LeMoyne College January 18 from 1 to 4 pm.
Mary Eileen Wood, who is director of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Initiatives at OCC, says the Mini Maker Fair's will give children and adults a chance to enjoy an afternoon of hands-on experiences with science, technology and engineering. Wood says it's designed to spark learning in children and to hopefully re-ignite it in adults. The event is part of the Dr. Nelson Ying Tri-Region Science and Technology Fair held in March at OCC.
Wood says the first 300 kids 18 and under who pre-register for the free event will get a NASA t-shirt. She says they would like to get everyone registered by January 10. You can pre-register online at YingTRSEF.org/MFaire or by phone at 498-2738. Wood also says transportation is available for those whose families don't have cars.
