Cicero, N.Y. - State police say a North Syracuse man who goes by the nickname "Johnny Cash" is in custody for selling a car he didn't have a right to sell.

Troopers in Oneida say that Gary Moth, who is also known as "Johnny Cash," was charged with forgery and petty larceny for pretending to be a car salesman and illegally taking a down payment for a car.  Moth also faces stolen property charges in Central Square and in Manlius for traffic violations and unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

He was arraigned in Salina Town Court and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail.
