Students are back in class at Cazenovia Middle and High School after a lockdown earlier this morning.

The schools were both put on a “precautionary” lockdown at 8:45 a.m. today, after a student reported to school officials that they had found bullets in the hallway. The district lifted the lockdown at 11:20 a.m.

Cazenovia Police Chief Mike Hayes tells 570 WSYR that officers spent three-hours searching the schools with dogs but found evidence of bullets or weapons in the school.

Students will be released on time.
