The Liverpool Central School District Board of Education is asking its residents to give them $37.9 million to upgrade the security and structures of the school.

The project will provide a new roof for the Liverpool High School, renovations to the Chestnut Hill Elementary and Middle Schools, and security upgrades for the entire district.

In residents are voting on if they are willing to increase their taxes by 2.285% beginning in the fall of 2016 – that works out to a $59.39 annual increase for a home assessed at $100,000.

The vote is Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Liverpool High School Gym.
