A Fulton police officer has been arrested and charged with beating a suspect in custody and then faking a report about it.
Fulton Police say Sgt. Joseph Arigo has been charged with third degree assault and falsifying records after a person complained that Arigo had assaulted him.
Police won't say who the victim is, but they say Arigo struck the man in the head and face several times until he suffered bruises and swelling. The victim also had a one inch cut over his eye, requiring several stitches.
Police allege that Arigo later wrote a fake report about the incident. Arigo has now been suspended from the department. Arigo is an 18 year veteran of the department.
