It's a golden anniversary opportunity to get educated about fighting hunger.

The Food Bank of Central New York's 25th annual conference, titled, "We Are All Working To End Hunger," is Friday.  The day-long event is an opportunity for the Food Bank and its many emergency food network partners and the public.

Two special speakers will be featured.  Matt Knott, president of Feeding America, will discuss a national perspective on hunger and outline the broad strategies his organization is pursuing in the fight to end hunger.  Also, Liuetenant John Anderson with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department will discuss "situational awareness," including helping the Food Bank's individual agency coordinators deal with identifying and responding to potential threatening situations.  There will also be a number of workshops throughout the day that cover a wide variety of topics dealing with food and hunger.

The conference is at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool, and begins with registration at 8:30.  It's open to the public.
