Cortland police say they have six males in custody who they believe were involved in an armed home robbery Tuesday night.

Police say the six suspects knew the occupants of the home, and went in to steal a quantity of marijuana they believed was inside.  Two of the males were armed and kept the five victims captive while the others searched the house.  The six fled with a small amount of marijuana, an undisclosed amount of cash, a pellet pistol, a fire safe, and two cell phones.

Police eventually arrested all six suspects, who are all from Cortland.  They are identified as:

  • Nathaniel D. Wright, 20
  • Robert L. Wade, 24
  • Bryshawn R. Lewis, 16
  • Quadir K. Artiste, 18
  • Bayshawn Barlow, 24
  • Shyquanne J. Pittman, 20

All six were charged with robbery in the second degree, burglary in the second degree, and conspiracy in the fourth degree. Two of the suspects also face criminal possession of a weapon charges, and one of the six is also charged with menacing.
