The Baldwinsville School District Marching Band has a date on Turkey Day - they're playing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Band director Casey Vanderstouw says they are one of just six marching band in the parade, and are the only band from New York performing.  Vanderstouw says Macy's has asked the band to perform some contemporary music, and he says they've tried to carefully choose.  He says not all kinds of music translate well to marching bands.

He says the band is incredibly excited about playing in the parade, and are hard at work on their performance.  The band will debut their parade material at a fundraising event on September 13.
