Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh and North Syracuse Police Chief Michael Crowell reports that a bank robbery suspect has been arrested this afternoon.

At about 2:55 PM on April 7th, Lucas Lunkenheimer of  Brewerton Rd. Mattydale NY approached the counter of the Seneca Federal Savings Bank located at 201 N. Main Street in the Village of North Syracuse and demanded money.

Lunkenheimer, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, white sunglasses and a mask, exited the rear doors of the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and ran west through the banks parking lot towards the North Syracuse Fire Department.

A joint investigation by the North Syracuse Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office led detectives to Lunkenheimer. He was arrested this afternoon at about 3:55 PM without incident at an acquaintance’s residence located on Bear Rd. N. Syracuse.
