Another frigid morning in Syracuse as we continue to stack-up below zero days this season.

At Hancock Airport the mercury reached 8 below zero Monday, marking the 13th morning this season we've seen below zero temperatures in Syracuse. The average temperature this season has been 3 degrees below normal, which is significant.

It was even colder north of town today. In Watertown is was 26 below this morning and 20 below in Saranac Lake, making for one of the coldest winters in years for the North Country and the Adirondacks.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel at least. By Wednesday the jet stream will change course and bring warmer air to Central New York. We could see 40 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday and the upper 40's by Friday, allowing for a slow melt of all the snow that's on the ground in Central New York.
