Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse Man that pleaded guilty to kidnapping his estranged wife and killing her friend says he wants to withdraw his plea.

George Alfred made the request Monday in court; a hearing regarding the request will be held May 13.

Last month, Alfred admitted that he shot Corey Hill, 33, when he discovered him in the home of his estranged wife, Tanya Alfred, on Steuben Street. Alfred then took his wife, against her will, to Pennsylvania where he later released her and surrendered to police.

Alfred would have served 20 years to life in prison for murder and 20 years to life for the kidnapping had he not withdrawn the plea.
